Kuwaiti Justice, Education and Higher Education Minister Ahmad Al-Mulaifi inspects a polling station in Kuwait City during the Feb. 2 , 2012 parliamentary elections. "Our democracy is an open book for all," the minister was quoted as saying by local media. A total of 400,296 Kuwaiti men and women are eligible to vote to choose from among some 285 candidates, including more than 20 women candidates, for a new 50-seat parliament.
